With 238+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, giant moray eels, pygmy seahorses, seahorses and sperm whales - Karang Ponilungan offers some of Sulawesi's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest June, October, November.
Karang Ponilungan offers a solid dive through a healthy coral reef in Sulawesi. We often find good schools of small reef fish here, particularly fusiliers and snapper, moving across the reef top. It's generally a gentle drift, making it a good choice for newer divers or those looking for a relaxed afternoon. The currents are usually mild, allowing plenty of time to explore the coral formations.
