With 238+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, giant moray eels, pygmy seahorses, seahorses and sperm whales - Reef 5 offers some of Sulawesi's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest June, October, November.
Reef 5 in Sulawesi often delivers a solid, enjoyable dive, particularly when conditions are calm. We’ve found the reef slope here to be reliable for spotting smaller critters, especially if you take your time. Look closely among the coral rubble and the whip corals; that's where we usually find the half-round carditas tucked away. The site isn't about big pelagics or dramatic drop-offs, more about the quiet hunt for macro life. It’s a good choice for a relaxed afternoon dive, maybe after a drift, when you just want to cruise and enjoy the reef.
