Secret Wonderland - Sulawesi

The Pinnacle sits off Ndokendoke Island, a solid forty-minute boat ride, and it’s a dive that lives up to its name. We drop onto a coral-covered summit at around 22 meters, then the rock face just drops away into the deep. Gorgonian fans are everywhere, big ones, mixed in with a good variety of hard and soft corals. It feels like everything’s vying for a spot on the rock. Visibility averages about 11 meters, sometimes less. It's not always gin-clear, but it adds to the atmosphere down there. We’ve seen plenty of Red-faced Squirrelfish tucked into crevices and the occasional Banded sea krait cruising by. If you like the idea of dropping into a deeper blue from a shallower reef, and don’t mind a bit of a current, this one’s a good option for an afternoon dive.
