Karang Bayang - Sumatra

Fairway Reefs in Safaga offers a solid dive, particularly if you appreciate the subtler side of reef ecosystems. We’ve found the hard coral formations here quite robust, creating plenty of nooks and crannies. Keep an eye out for the smaller inhabitants, like the Brownbar snapping shrimp, often tucked away, or a Cloth-of-Gold cone snail slowly making its way across the sand patches. Patches of seagrass, including *Thalassia* and *Cymodocea*, attract different types of critters, and we’ve occasionally spotted dolphins passing by in the deeper blue. It’s a good choice for a relaxed dive, suitable for most experience levels, without the strong currents sometimes found elsewhere in the Red Sea.
