Spongebob - Sumatra

Don’t let the name fool you, Spongebob isn’t some gimmick dive. This site on Sumatra offers a genuinely interesting macro experience. We’ve spent hours here, meticulously combing through the extensive seagrass beds and sandy patches for the small stuff. You’ll find some striking corrugated corals, and the thalassia is where you might spot tiny seastar shrimp or a well-camouflaged dragonet. It's not a fast-paced drift, but a slow, deliberate exploration, perfect for photographers or anyone who enjoys the hunt for rare critters. We’d suggest going at slack tide to really take your time amongst the cowries and ghost cardinalfish.
