Valley of the tubes - Sumatra

Okay, "Valley of the Tubes" is a spot that sounds intriguing on paper. We found a lot of tube corals here, mainly stretching out to the west. To be honest, there’s some silt and evidence of human impact in that direction, which dulls the experience a bit. Our advice? Head east instead. You'll find some healthier coral formations there, particularly around the 5-meter mark, where the light plays nicely across them. Keep an eye out for common dragonets and those quirky clown anemonefish nestled among the branches. It’s a good, easy dive for a relaxed afternoon, especially if you’re keen on spotting macro life in the shallows.
