Coral Garden
Protected Area
Sugud Islands Marine Conservation Area
Why dive here
With 142+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blue-spotted stingrays, eagle rays, sea turtles and sperm whales - Coral Garden offers some of Sipadan's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest May, October, November.
Coral Garden, as the name suggests, is all about the reef itself. You’ll find a gently sloping hard coral plateau, packed with table corals and branching varieties. It’s a good spot for macro life and finding smaller reef fish darting between the polyps. We’d suggest this site for photographers keen to slow down and really observe the details of a healthy coral ecosystem.
