Dolphine Water - Sipadan

Dolphin Water, despite the name, isn’t really about dolphins. It's about a wreck, a hefty barge sunk close to Sipadan’s main dive sites. We love it because it’s something different from the usual wall dives here, a nice change of pace. The barge sits upright and shallow, around 10 meters, so you get plenty of bottom time and lots of light. It’s completely encrusted now, a proper artificial reef. You’ll find a surprising amount of small stuff here: moray eels peering from holes, nudibranchs crawling along the rusty hull, and schools of snapper hanging motionless above the deck. We’ve even seen blue-ringed octopuses here, if you look closely enough in the crevices. Entry and exit are usually easy, conditions are typically calm, and because it’s so shallow, it’s a brilliant spot for newer divers to get their first taste of wreck diving without any depth concerns. It also makes for a fantastic safety stop or even a second dive after a deeper Sipadan drift.
