KAHING - Sipadan

Kahing isn't a deep dive, maxing out around 10 meters, but it’s a seriously cool break from Sipadan’s usual reef action. This isn’t some ancient, broken-up hull. The carrier vessel is a proper, intact wreck, about 50 meters long. We love how you can really get a sense of its original form, the deck, the holds – it's all there, waiting to be explored. Swimming around it, you'll see the metalwork absolutely smothered in soft corals, purple and orange, swaying gently with the surge. Schools of fusiliers often hang above the structure, a shimmering curtain you can swim right through. Look closer, and you’ll spot crocodilefish camouflaged on the deck, and we've even seen reef sharks cruising by the bow. It’s a photographer's dream, especially on a bright day when the sunlight filters down, illuminating the entire wreck. Our tip: go early if you can. It gets busy, and you want that quiet time to really soak it in.
