With 142+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blue-spotted stingrays, eagle rays, sea turtles and sperm whales - Maine Reef offers some of Sipadan's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest May, October, November.
Maine Reef is a mellow drift dive along a sloping wall at Sipadan's north end. You're likely to spot green turtles resting on ledges and whitetip reef sharks cruising by. It’s a good spot for newer intermediate divers to get comfortable with Sipadan's currents without too much challenge, often with solid visibility.
