OLVY - 01 - Sipadan

Forget the drop-offs and the turtle tornadoes for a minute. OLVY - 01 is a proper wreck dive, a nice change of pace from Sipadan’s usual vertical adventures. It’s a fishing boat, fairly intact, sitting upright on the sand, and we love how approachable it is. You can easily poke around the wheelhouse, check out the engine room – all the familiar structures are still there. Schools of yellow-tail barracuda often cruise past, and we’ve seen some hefty groupers tucked away in the shadows, making the old hulk their home. It's a fantastic spot for photographers looking for something a bit different, and it’s shallow enough that you get great light filtering through the water, illuminating the corals that have started to bloom on the deck. Our tip: go slow, look closely at the smaller critters hiding in the nooks and crannies. You’ll find some cool stuff here.
