With 142+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blue-spotted stingrays, eagle rays, sea turtles and sperm whales - Preston Shoal offers some of Sipadan's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest May, October, November.
Preston Shoal is a modest pinnacle dive at Sipadan, topping out around 17 meters. It's a reliable spot for seeing the schooling fish that Sipadan is famous for, like barracuda and jacks, often swirling overhead. We typically encounter turtles here, too, resting on the pinnacle or cruising past. It's a solid intermediate dive when you're looking for consistent action without deep depths.
