With 142+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blue-spotted stingrays, eagle rays, sea turtles and sperm whales - South Edgell Patch offers some of Sipadan's richest reef diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest May, October, November.
South Edgell Patch, like much of Sipadan, is a drift dive. We often find ourselves gliding past tuna and barracuda here, sometimes in significant schools. The currents can be playful, so it’s a site best suited for divers comfortable with a bit of a ride, allowing you to cover ground and observe the larger pelagics moving through.
