TUNG HWANG - Sipadan

The MV Tung Hwang, at 27 metres, is a proper wreck dive, not just a pile of rubble. She was a carrier, over 90 metres long, that ran aground in 1980 and settled upright, making for some fantastic penetration possibilities if you’re properly trained and equipped. We love seeing the massive schools of bigeye trevally that often envelope the wreck, creating these shimmering, silver walls that briefly block out the sun. Swim through the holds and engine room, where the light filters in through various openings, revealing the resident groupers and lionfish tucked into corners. The sheer scale of the Tung Hwang means you'll want at least two dives to properly take it all in; it’s a site that really rewards a thorough exploration rather than a quick swim-through.
