Moby Tek - Tioman Island

Moby Tek, off Tioman, is one of those sites we always recommend, especially for divers who appreciate the little things. It’s not about dramatic drop-offs or huge pelagics here. Instead, you get a sprawling, relatively shallow reef, perfect for a long, relaxed dive. We love Moby Tek for its sheer variety of reef fish and the stunning health of its hard corals. Drifting over the Lesser Valley and Staghorn corals, you’ll spot Silver Demoiselles darting amongst the branches, and Onelined Wrasse picking through the rubble. Keep an eye out for the Cobb's Winged Murphydoris nudibranch, often found inching across the rockier sections. During our last visit, a school of Big-Eye Trevally swirled past, followed by a pair of curious Common Coral Trout. Visibility here usually stays pretty decent, making it easy to spot even the well-camouflaged Peppered Grubfish. We’d suggest going in the morning; the light seems to bring out the subtle greens and browns of the Green-blotched Parrotfish as they munch on the reef. This site is a photographer’s dream and a perfect spot for divers who enjoy taking their time to observe reef behaviour.
