With 107+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, sea turtles, whale sharks and pufferfish - Penut offers some of Tioman Island's richest diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest April, May, November.
Penut is a gentle shore dive, sheltered from the main currents, making it ideal for newer divers or those getting back into the water. The maximum depth is 18 meters, a good spot for buoyancy practice among the scattered boulders. We've often seen juvenile reef fish, small nudibranchs, and occasional cuttlefish here, particularly in the quieter morning hours. Expect a relaxed dive rather than dramatic scenery.
