RISDAM - Tioman Island
RISDAM is a curious spot in Tioman, not your typical coral dive. What you're looking at is the scattered remains of an East Indiaman, sunk back in 1727. She was already leaking badly after leaving Ayutthaya, eventually beached when the damage became too much. Today, it’s a very shallow dive, maxing out at about five metres, which makes it perfect for longer bottom times and really picking through the history. We've seen some interesting nudibranchs here, and smaller reef fish darting between the timbers. It’s less about big pelagics and more about the historical narrative – an easy, relaxing dive for wreck enthusiasts who appreciate the subtle details.
