The Wild Orchid Resort - Bohol
Forget what you think you know about Bohol diving. While Panglao rightfully gets its due, we often steer friends towards the Wild Orchid Resort on Anda for a decidedly more laid-back vibe. The team there are PADI pros through and through, running a tight ship for courses, but it’s the quiet access to Anda’s underwater treasures that really wins us over. We love how easy they make shore dives, especially to their house reef right out front. Slip in and you’re often greeted by schools of sardines, not quite the Moalboal mega-school, but still impressive, swirling around the coral bommies. Our favourite time to dive here is early morning, before the day warms up too much; the light filtering through the water is something else. For boat dives, we’d suggest pressing them for a trip to the dives further east, where the walls are healthier and the chances of spotting a passing turtle or even a reef shark are higher. It feels less… trafficked than other parts of Bohol, and that’s a big part of its charm.
