Turtle Bay Dive Resort - Bohol
The team at Turtle Bay Dive Resort have a real knack for making you feel part of the family, even if it’s just for a few days. We’ve always appreciated their relaxed approach to diving – no rushing, no massive groups. They’re a PADI 5 Star outfit, so the teaching is solid, whether you’re just starting out or looking to brush up on a specialty. If you’re into longer, unhurried dives where you actually get to *look* at things, this is definitely your spot. Our favourite thing about Turtle Bay is the feeling of calm you get both above and below the surface. We always seem to spot something interesting right on their house reef – nudibranchs crawling along the hard corals, maybe a turtle munching on seagrass. It’s perfect for those lazy afternoon dives when you don’t want to go far. For the wider sites, they’re usually out by 9 am, heading to places with decent walls, often with schools of jacks spiralling in the blue. Keep an eye on the currents, especially around new moon; they can pick up, but that’s often when the bigger stuff comes through. We love their focus on small groups; it makes a real difference when you’re trying to photograph a pygmy seahorse or just enjoy the quiet.
