Ross Reef - Palawan
Ross Reef, off Palawan, offers a classic Southeast Asian wreck dive without the heavy crowds. We found a Japanese gunboat, listing hard to starboard, that’s now thoroughly covered in soft corals and sponges. Penetration is possible for experienced wreck divers, though we mostly enjoyed exploring the main deck and watching the resident batfish school around the mast. The corals are quite colourful in places, and we’ve spotted various nudibranchs tucked into crevices. It’s a good choice for divers who appreciate history and natural reclamation in equal measure.
