Sandy Cay
Why dive here
Sandy Cay is a reef dive where divers can encounter sea turtles and sperm whales. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest May, June, July.
Sandy Cay, out in the Spratly Islands, offers a decent dive for those exploring this part of Palawan. The reef itself is a mix of hard and soft corals, not exactly sprawling, but healthy enough to attract a good number of reef fish. We’ve seen angelfish and butterflyfish pecking at the corals, and sometimes a passing snapper or two. It’s generally a relaxed dive, good for getting your buoyancy dialed in or for a second, easier dive of the day. Conditions are usually pretty mild here, making it suitable for divers who prefer a more gentle drift.
