DAIGO - Visayas
The Daigo Maru sits upright in just 11 metres of water, making it a genuinely accessible wreck for most divers. You’ll find a motor vessel, a good-sized freighter that’s broken in a few places, but mostly intact enough to retain its shape. We enjoy circling the bow and stern, noting the way the deck fittings have become completely encrusted. There’s no penetration here, but the outside of the wreck offers plenty to explore, particularly the resident batfish and schools of fusiliers that hang around the superstructure. It’s a comfortable dive, often with mild currents, and a nice way to spend an hour underwater.
