Why dive here
With 554+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, manta rays and mobula rays (devil rays) - Himokilan Island offers some of Visayas's richest diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest May, June, October.
Himokilan Island is a straightforward dive in the Visayas, generally calm and good for relaxed dives. We usually see a mix of smaller reef fish here, think anemonefish and various wrasse darting around healthy hard corals. It's a decent spot for newer divers or those looking for an easy second dive, nothing too challenging but consistently pleasant. If you’re after big pelagics, this isn’t your spot, but for a gentle cruise, it works.
