J BROTHERS - Visayas

J Brothers sits at 30 meters, a motor vessel that went down decades ago, and what a site it's become. This isn’t one of those wrecks where you’re just looking at a pile of rust. Instead, you'll find a beautifully intact hull, lying on its side, inviting exploration. We love the way the light filters through the upper deck, illuminating schools of batfish that seem to hang suspended in the water, almost like they're part of the ship's ghostly crew. Our favourite time to dive J Brothers is just after slack tide, when the currents are mellow and you can really take your time poking around the superstructure. Look closely and you'll spot resident lionfish tucked into every crevice, their feathery fins fanning gently. The cargo holds are still open, and peering into the gloom, you'll often see grouper lurking, sometimes even a nurse shark if you're lucky. It's a proper wreck dive, best suited for those comfortable at depth and with good buoyancy control, allowing you to drift through without stirring up the silt. It’s got a real story to tell, and you feel it down there.
