Olango Cave
Protected Area
Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary
Why dive here
With 554+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, manta rays and mobula rays (devil rays) - Olango Cave offers some of Visayas's richest cave diving. Water ranges 28-31°C, warmest May, June, October.
Olango Cave offers a cavern dive experience, best suited for those comfortable in overhead environments. You'll drop into a relatively wide chamber, sunlight dappling through the entrance, illuminating the rock formations. The bottom is mostly silt, so good buoyancy is key to keeping visibility clear. It's a straightforward cave, not too deep, an interesting option for a change of pace from reef diving.
Safety Notes
Overhead environment - never enter without proper cave/cavern training, redundant equipment, and a guideline.
