Southern Leyte - Visayas
Southern Leyte remains one of the Philippines' quieter dive destinations, tucked away on the eastern edge of the Visayas. It’s got a genuine charm, feeling a bit less polished than some of its neighbours. Our main reason for heading here is the whale shark encounters, particularly between December and May when they’re regularly spotted around Sogod Bay. Beyond the big fish, you’ll find some healthy reef patches, often with schools of Jacks and barracuda zipping past, and the occasional turtle gliding through. It’s a good pick for divers who appreciate a more relaxed vibe and aren't chasing wall-to-wall coral, but still want a shot at something spectacular.
