MARITIME FIDELITY - Southern Islands

The *Maritime Fidelity* is our pick for a deeper dive in Singapore. It’s a proper wreck, not just a pile of rubble. This bulk carrier, sunk in ‘99 after a run-in with a tanker, lies on its port side at 38 metres. Dropping down, you feel the current push you along the hull. It’s often murky, low visibility is just part of the deal here, but that adds to the atmosphere, the sudden appearance of a massive propeller out of the gloom. We love exploring the sheer scale of it, the way the cargo holds gape open, inviting a peek inside if you’re comfortable with overhead environments. Keep an eye out for batfish, they hang around the superstructure in schools, almost like curtains. We’ve seen barracuda here, too, sleek and silver, patrolling the deeper sections. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the quiet intensity of a big steel wreck and don't mind a bit of a challenge with the conditions. Definitely one for experienced wreck divers comfortable with depth and limited visibility.
