SEMPENA - Southern Islands
The Sempena, a merchant vessel, sits at a depth of 40 metres off Singapore's Southern Islands. It’s classified as a dangerous wreck, so this isn't one for beginners; good buoyancy and wreck diving experience are essential. Over the years, the wreck has attracted a surprising amount of life given its location. You’ll find schools of fusiliers swirling around the superstructure and a decent population of lionfish, often tucked into the darker sections. It’s a fascinating dive for those comfortable with deeper wrecks and a bit of history. We’d suggest going during the slack tide for the best conditions, as currents can be unpredictable.
