Shahraz - Southern Islands
Shahraz, a small motor vessel wreck in the Southern Islands, sits upright on the seabed at a shallow 8 metres. This makes it an approachable wreck dive, even for newer divers looking to explore their first proper structure. We often find the visibility here can be a bit of a mixed bag, sometimes it's a calm 5 metres, other days it's more like 2, but that just adds to the atmospheric charm of navigating the hull. Look closely and you’ll spot resident batfish hovering near the superstructure, and plenty of smaller reef fish darting in and out of the broken sections. It’s not a huge wreck, but there are enough nooks and crannies to explore for a good 40-minute bottom time.
