Freedive Koh Tao - Koh Tao
The team at Freedive Koh Tao are some of the most genuinely patient instructors we’ve met. They’re obsessive about equalisation, which, let’s be honest, is where many freediving dreams hit a wall. If you’ve ever struggled to get past a certain depth or just want to feel smoother on your descents, these are your people. What we really love is their calm, almost meditative approach to teaching. It’s not about pushing limits for the sake of it; it’s about finding that sweet spot of relaxation where depth just happens. We found ourselves sinking down, the water cool against our cheeks, feeling the pressure build slowly, listening to nothing but our own heartbeat. It’s incredibly freeing. Our favourite tip they gave us was to visualise the equalisation before even starting the dive – it sounds simple, but it made a massive difference. They’re excellent for anyone looking to go from AIDA 2 right through to instructor level, especially if you appreciate a smaller group feel and instructors who truly live and breathe freediving. Plus, Koh Tao’s calm, warm waters are the perfect place to practice.
