"Scuba Birds" PADI Diving Center
Koh Tao, Thailand
The team at Scuba Birds PADI Diving Center are the kind of instructors who make you feel instantly at ease, even if you haven't splashed in a while. We love how they run their operation with a focus on smaller groups, which is a big deal on Koh Tao where some boats can feel a bit like sardine cans. It means more personal attention during your PADI Open Water, and a much better chance of spotting something cool on a fun dive without a dozen other divers kicking up the sand. Our favourite touch is their attention to pre-dive briefings; they're thorough without being boring, and they always point out what specific critters we might find at sites like Chumphon Pinnacle or Southwest. We'd suggest asking them about the best time for a PADI Night Diver course; seeing the reef come alive with hunting reef sharks and those weird, glowing bioluminescent plankton is a whole different world. They’re a solid choice if you value a friendly, unhurried pace and want to truly connect with your instructors and the underwater world around Koh Tao.
