Kata Beach South Reef - Similan Islands

Kata Beach South Reef, on Similan Island Number 1, is a gentle introduction to the Similans, especially if you're fresh off a liveaboard check dive. At a maximum depth of 10 metres, it's perfect for new divers or anyone looking for an easy, relaxing drift. We usually see plenty of pipefish tucked into the sandy patches and juvenile reef fish darting amongst the coral bommies. Keep an eye out for blue-spotted stingrays half-buried in the sand. It’s a good spot to get comfortable with your buoyancy without any tricky currents to worry about.
