Koh Haa, near Ao Nang - Similan Islands

Not to be confused with the Koh Haa of Krabi fame, this Similan Islands spot near Ao Nang is a fine training ground for new divers. It's a shallow little number, topping out at 18 metres, making it perfect for those getting their buoyancy dialled in or for a relaxed safety stop drift. Expect to see some pretty common reef fish pottering about – we’ve often spotted parrotfish munching on coral and a few clownfish playing hide-and-seek in anemones. It’s a gentle introduction to the Similans, a good place to ease into the rhythm before tackling some of the area's more intense sites.
