Maya Cave - Ta Ma Ya - Similan Islands

Maya Cave, often called Ta Ma Ya, is a unique spot in the Similans. We've always found it a good break from the deeper pinnacles. It’s an easy entry into a substantial cavern, not a tight squeeze at all. You drift in, maybe see a few Crown of thorns starfish clinging to the ceiling, then settle into the sandy bottom. Look closely and you’ll find a surprising number of small fish like Bicolor Blennies and Marshall Dottybacks tucked into crevices. It’s a calm, shallow dive, perfect for a longer bottom time or for divers who want to try cavern diving without much current to worry about.
