The Dome - Similan Islands

The Dome offers something a little different from the typical Similan Islands coral show. Here, you're diving amongst big, sculptural volcanic rock formations, with the corals growing on and around them. It feels ancient, like you're exploring the bones of the island itself. We've seen plenty of branch and table corals, and even some big staghorn patches, but the real draw is the geology. Keep an eye out into the blue, because the occasional whale shark has cruised by here – it’s not common, but it happens. This site is a good pick for those who appreciate the structure of a dive as much as the fish.
