Inner Governor Reef - Victoria

Hannah Rocks gives you a real taste of Alaskan diving. It’s a rocky spot, with visibility often running around 10-15 meters, depending on the tide and recent weather. Down here, you're not looking for big pelagics, but for the smaller, more resilient creatures that thrive in these cooler waters. We’ve spotted spotted ratfish hugging the bottom and seen schools of slender sole flitting past. Look for unique invertebrates too, like the slender blade shrimp and sweet potato sea cucumbers. Surface intervals often bring views of marbled murrelets and pigeon guillemots diving for their own meals. It's a dive for those who appreciate the subtle beauty of a robust temperate ecosystem, less about flashy colours and more about sheer survival.
