Why dive here
With 657+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, blue sharks, blue-spotted stingrays and bull sharks - Fonti Reef offers some of Grand Lagoon's richest reef diving.
Fonti Reef in New Caledonia's Grand Lagoon is a solid choice for a relaxing dive. The coral here forms a gentle slope, making it a good spot for newer divers or those looking for an easy drift. You'll likely see a decent range of reef fish, parrotfish chewing on the coral, and a few nudibranchs if you look closely. We find it's a pleasant way to spend an hour underwater, nothing too dramatic, just consistent reef life.
