GlobalDive - Goat Island & Hauraki Gulf
The team at GlobalDive are just good people, plain and simple. We’ve spent enough time diving around Goat Island and the Hauraki Gulf to know that a friendly face and solid local knowledge make all the difference, and they’ve got both in spades. They’re our pick if you’re keen to level up your diving, especially if you’re looking at going dry or getting into the tech side of things. Their range of technical rebreather courses is particularly impressive; it’s not something you find everywhere. We love them for their focus on patience. If you’re a newer diver, or just feeling a bit rusty, they’ll take the time you need. Out in the Hauraki Gulf, the conditions can sometimes be a bit sporty, especially when a southerly picks up, so knowing you’re with a crew that prioritises safety and comfort is a big plus. We’ve had some cracking dives near Goat Island with them, watching those big snapper cruise through the kelp forests, the light filtering down from above. Their rental gear is always well-maintained too, which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given.
