SOUTH EAST CORNER - Goat Island & Hauraki Gulf

Turneffe Atoll, the biggest of Belize's three atolls, offers a sprawling network of dive sites. We've often found ourselves drifting past walls adorned with barrel sponges and gorgonians, keeping an eye out for patrolling reef sharks and the occasional eagle ray gliding by. The max depth of 22 metres means longer bottom times, and the average 22 metre visibility makes it easy to spot the smaller stuff, like the shy frecklefin gobies peeking from their holes or a blackcheek blenny perched on a coral head. It's a solid choice for relaxed diving, good for newer divers building confidence, but still interesting enough for seasoned folks who appreciate a calm reef explore.
