LADY PATRICIA - Aruba Leeward Coast

We love the Lady Patricia, though calling it a wreck might be a touch generous these days. It’s more of a scatter of interesting metal parts, a skeleton really, but what a shallow, easy skeleton it is. At just 2 metres, it’s a perfect spot for snorkelers and new divers, or when you just want a relaxed dip without the faff of deep diving. What you’ll find here are the remnants of a concrete freighter, broken up by storms years ago. The bow and stern sections are still distinct enough to recognise, and the scattered bits in between have become fantastic anchor points for corals and sponges. We’ve spent ages here just drifting over the plates, watching the damselfish dart in and out of the crevices. Look closely, and you’ll spot moray eels tucked into the larger sections, often just their heads peeking out. It’s a gentle spot, usually with minimal current, making it ideal for practicing buoyancy or just enjoying the slow pace of the shallows.
