With 362+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and humpback whales - Runaway 10 offers some of Long Island's richest diving. Water ranges 26-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
We haven't spent much time on Runaway 10 ourselves, but what we know points to a straightforward dive. Expect scattered coral heads and a sandy bottom, fairly typical for many Long Island sites. It's likely a good spot for newer divers, offering gentle conditions and a chance to spot common Caribbean reef fish without strong currents. If you're looking for a relaxed afternoon dip, this fits the bill.
