Stuart Cove's - Nassau & New Providence
If you’re heading to Nassau, chances are you've already heard about Stuart Cove's. They're pretty much synonymous with Bahamian diving, and for good reason. The team there are absolute pros, running a slick operation that still feels genuinely friendly, which is a neat trick when you’re as popular as they are. We think they’re brilliant for anyone looking to pack a lot of diving into a trip, especially if you're keen on wrecks or, let's be honest, sharks. We've spent a fair bit of time out with their crews, and what we love most is their efficiency. They run a fleet of boats, so you're not usually waiting around, and they get you out to some fantastic spots quickly. Their shark dives are legendary, a real heart-pumper where you can expect to see Caribbean reef sharks cruising close enough to make the hairs on your arms stand up. Our favourite tip for these: position yourself slightly higher than the main group, looking down – it gives you a better perspective of the sharks moving through the water. Beyond the toothy encounters, they've got some great wreck dives. We particularly like the James Bond wrecks, like the Tears of Allah from "Never Say Never Again", which are now well-colonised by sponges and snapper. The sheer volume of dive sites they access means you can spend days with them and never feel like you’re repeating a dive. For solid, reliable diving with a big emphasis on sharks and wrecks, Stuart Cove’s is always a good bet.
