Fuikbai Anchorage - Curaçao Southeast

La China Nómada, for us, is all about the architecture. We’re talking towering walls carved from millennia of reef growth, shaping a seriously dramatic landscape. There’s a wide canyon and then a narrow one, both of them inviting you to just drift through, eyes peeled. We've heard whispers of a shark occasionally resting here, though we've never been lucky enough to spot it ourselves – but that’s the magic of the Yucatán cenotes, isn’t it? You just never know what might be around the next bend. Keep an eye out for queen triggerfish, they’re pretty common here, and the barrel sponges are absolutely massive, adding to that majestic, ancient feel. Visibility averages around 12 meters, which is plenty to soak it all in. We’d suggest going early to catch the best light filtering down, it really brings the colours to life. This site is a great pick for divers who appreciate dramatic topography and a bit of mystery, rather than those hunting for macro critters.
