Playa Shon Mosa - Curaçao Southeast

Okay, let's clear something up right away: "Shark Point - Playa del Carmen" is a dive *from* Playa del Carmen, not Cozumel. Big difference in the ferry ride! Once you’re in the water, a quick five-minute boat ride takes you to this spot. This isn't a deep reef dive, but it's a profound experience. Between November and March, this is where the pregnant bull sharks congregate. We’re talking big, powerful females, often resting on the sandy bottom, sometimes cruising slowly past. We position ourselves carefully, usually kneeling on the sand at around 20-25 metres, and simply watch. The feeling of a two-metre shark gliding by, so close you can count the remoras, is incredibly humbling. Visibility averages around 19 metres, which is decent enough for some truly memorable encounters. Beyond the main event, we’ve spotted tarpon lurking in the blue and various eels poking from the sand. This dive is for anyone keen on a powerful, respectful shark encounter. If you’re comfortable at depth and can hold steady for a while, you’ll absolutely love it.
