Tee Box - Curaçao Southeast

Wheat Field is exactly what it sounds like. We’re talking about a main pinnacle, the top of it just 3 metres below the surface, absolutely smothered in leather coral. When that famous Somosomo Strait current starts to pick up, the coral sways in unison, looking just like a golden field of wheat moving in the breeze. It’s a hypnotic sight, honestly, one we can just hang out and watch for ages. This isn't a deep dive, maxing out around 24 metres, but it’s packed. We’ve seen everything from blacktip reef sharks cruising past to a shy green turtle munching on the corals. Look closely for the smaller stuff too: tiny adorably decorated dwarfgobies and those striking blue-ribbon wrasses flitting amongst the branches. The second, smaller pinnacle drops to 36 metres, but we often stick to the shallows, really soaking in that unique "wheat field" effect. It’s a relaxed drift, generally, and suits anyone who appreciates a beautiful coral garden with a bit of a show.
