St. George Wreck - Bayahibe & La Romana
The St. George Wreck is a great dive for anyone comfortable exploring a decent-sized wreck. She sits upright on the sand at 40 meters, a former cargo ship deliberately sunk back in '99. We often descend along the mooring line to the bridge, then work our way forward, poking into the holds. Over the years, corals have really started to colonise the decks and superstructure, attracting schools of fish. Keep an eye out for the giant gobies that often peer from crevices; they're surprisingly bold here. It's a solid intermediate dive, offering plenty of nooks and crannies to explore if you’ve got the bottom time.
