With 232+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, humpback whales, orcas, sea turtles and sperm whales - The Rock offers some of Sosua & Puerto Plata's richest pinnacle diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest September, October, November.
The Rock, just off Sosua, gives you a solid rocky reef with some interesting swim-throughs and crevices to explore. You'll often spot moray eels tucked away and plenty of reef fish going about their day. It’s a good, straightforward dive, perfect for knocking off some rust or for newer divers getting comfortable in the Caribbean. We often suggest it as a second dive after something deeper.
