With 331+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and manta rays - Machette offers some of Cousteau Reserve's richest reef diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Machette, within Cousteau Reserve, is a shallow, gentle site. At 13 metres, it’s a good spot for newer divers or those looking for a relaxed dive. You'll likely see a variety of smaller reef fish amongst the coral patches. It’s not the most dramatic reef in the area, but it offers a pleasant, easy dive.
