PPK Plongée Guadeloupe - Cousteau Reserve
PPK Plongée sits right in the heart of the Cousteau Reserve, and for us, it’s one of the spots we consistently come back to. We find the topography here is just a dream for exploration – gentle slopes giving way to dramatic drop-offs, dotted with coral heads that seem to pulsate with little critters. We especially love the feeling of drifting over the sandy patches, keeping an eye out for the odd cowfish kicking up dust, then tucking into the reef to watch sergeant majors dart through the gaps. The visibility here is often fantastic, giving you those long lines of sight that make the shoals of blue runners look endless. Our favourite part has to be finning slowly along the reef edge, just absorbing the sheer density of fish life. You’ll see brown chromis everywhere, of course, but keep an eye peeled for ocean triggerfish cruising by, or a lone blue doctor nosing around. It’s a site that rewards a slow pace, letting you really soak it all in. We’d suggest an early morning dive if you can swing it; the light on the corals is just beautiful then. This is a perfect site for divers who appreciate a relaxed pace and want to spend time observing the smaller reef residents.
