With 493+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, blacktip reef sharks, bull sharks, dolphins and eagle rays - Punta Soldado offers some of Fajardo & East Coast's richest diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Punta Soldado is a good spot for a relaxed dive along Puerto Rico's eastern coast, particularly if you’re newer to diving or just want an easy afternoon. Dropping to a gentle 13 meters, it’s mostly a sandy bottom with scattered coral heads, providing plenty of nooks for grunt and snapper. We often see southern stingrays cruising the flats, and a patient eye might even spot a jawfish peeking from its burrow. The conditions are usually calm, making it a comfortable introduction to Caribbean diving.
